howto install PEPs and Loadware

i need to install some loadware and one pep specified (manually or by CLI or LD )to the mgc card. some one cand helpme

This is how

To upgrade the firmware on the MGC

All below should be lower case



ftp to the call server and login with pdt2 and THE PDT PASSWORD

cd /u

cd loadware

bin

hash

prompt

mput mgccad45.lw



On the terminal that is connected to the call server via serial cable

Login to pdt



Cd /u

Cd loadware

Lwload mgccad45.lw



The system will return a Loadware filename



Use the command lwinst <patch number>



Then in LD 143

Upgmg 0 0 (loop shelf)

Procomm Login to PDT
get into c:/u/patch

pdt>rx p12345_1.ssc (recieve the patch)

Send with procomm using XMODEM use TTY 0.


pdt>cd c:/u/patch
pdt>cp a:/p21572_1.ssc . (this is if you put the PCMCIA in
the A drive and the . means copy
to current directory)
pdt>pload p21572_1.ssc (will give you a patch handle)
pdt>pins <patch handle No.> (eg pins 120)

This all can be done from Element Manager without the need for PDT passwords.

It's pretty clear from the sidebar menu in Element Manager.

911Guru is correct, however, you will need to log into element manager using credentials that have PDT access.

Once you have logged in with the proper credentials, you should go to:

System->Software->Media Gateway PEPs
and
System->Software->Loadware PEPs

without a login id with PDT access, you will not see those options.
