I hope someone can help me with this. I have a DSL line off-site and would like it to access my WAN network. I've heard about VPN but that just it. Is there a way my DSL line can connect to my WAN and if so, would I need additional equipment.
well, in either case you need additional software. Various vendors offers various software to build up a VPN. On your WAN side you need an official (static !) adress. That´s the (static) tunnel end point for your dsl computer. The client software initiates the VPN then. I´m not sure if you can use any software (i.e. the Checkpoint "Client" Software for CISCO VPN´s)for any vendors.
