Hello

I have a Desktop PC with XP. My Monitor died. I have an old Laptop. Can I use that Laptop as a Monitor?. If Yes, could you please tell me what cable I should connect with Desktop and Laptop, also how do I set it.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks in Advance.

what is the make/model of the laptop? need to see if it supports a "video in" connection, and if so, what connections are supported (and if you have the proper cables needed).

Thanks for the reply.
The Laptop is HP Pavilion ZU1175

Considering the cost of a new monitor, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one rather than a lead and then run slowly over a laptop connection?

There is no reasonable way to do this.

sorry, neither your laptop nor the dock support video in. I agree with my fellow posters that this is not a resonable possibility for you.it would be best to get another monitor.

The only other possibility would be to initiate a remote desktop connection to the desktop pc from the laptop (if they are on the same network) - so you are essentially remote controlling the desktop pc from the laptop, and you could run that in full screen as well.

(VNC and other remote control products are another possibility, but would have to already be set up prior to the monitor dying).
