How to write a text file in EDI 810 format 1

I currently need to write a VB program to output a text file in EDI 810 format.

Does anyone know where I could obtain sample code or are aware of a VB application that outputs files in this format?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi. A few qs:

* How well do you know EDI?
* Do you have a limited set of data (segments) you will be converting?
* Do you have an EDI provider or in-house software (or will this program do it all)?

I've written an EDI engine for my company that takes input from a set of files (or database) and converts it to an intermediate format - then writes out the final text file. That way, it's very flexible.

Although the code is proprietary, I could help you with the design. BTW, when I started this project, I searched a lot of VB sites, but never found anything useful (or it was too simple for our needs).

Thanks for replying, I have now created a script to create a text file in EDI format from various metadata.
