How to warn users before taking down db?

How to warn the users when taking down the db?
This should be implemented in a script when making backup.

If you are using NT, you can use the Net Send command to send messages to a list of users. You should be able to create a .bat or script file to send the messages prior to running a backup. If you think this may work, do a search of these forums for NET SEND. I know that there have been several threads regarding the use and formatting of this command.
