Hi, is there any way to view or set the UNIX password rules? I would like my new UNIX users' password to be at least 7 alpha-numeric characters including at least 1 capital letter. My OS is 5.8. Thank you.

As far as I know, in Solaris 8 (OS 5.8) you can adjust the minimum password length but not force at least 1 capital letter. This is done in the file /etc/default/passwd (along with the expiration period and minimium time between changes). I know in Tru64 UNIX the 1 capital letter rule is there, but not in "vanilla" Solaris 8.

I hope that helps you.
