hi ,,,

please how to use the cisco tftp server .

1- i cannot assign to it an ip address or hostname

2- it have a fixed ip (127.0.0.1) which is not allowed in the router interface

3- how to ping from the router the tftp server with an hyperterminal connection through the console port ?

thanks

You can't use tftp to transfer images over the serial port. You use an ethernet port on your PC/laptop and an ethernet port on the router. You need to set up a link between your PC and router via either a cross over cable or switch. Give your ethernet card an address and configure the router (via the console connection) with an IP address so that it can talk to the PC. You will then be able to use the tftp server to transfer images.

Chris.
