I need to use a combo box as a parameter box in a query so a user can select from the combo box to set the parameters for a query.

First open your form in design view.
Find your combo box an double click it to bring up properties.
Go to the top of properties and find the "Name", remember it.
Next in design view of your Query click in the field where you want the Combo box to show. Click in the "Criteria" box
Then Right Click and a list will pop up, left click on "Build". A build dialog box will show.
Double Click the "Forms" word in the lower Left column.
If your form is currently open then click "Loaded forms"
Or "All forms" if not
Find your form and double click it.
In the middle column a list will show that has has every item on your form find your Combo box.
Then double click it.
It will show in the top box. like so
Forms![Form1]![Combo7]
Click OK
It should show in your Criteria box
Open your form and pick an item in the combox box.
Next run your query it should show the results based on that combo box.

Note: this Build is a powerful thing remember it and use it.
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
