Hi,
I have sun sparc with os 7 installed on it. I am in the process of upgrading it to 8 via dvd. I don't have the dvd in my sun box.
I have an other windows machine that has dvd rom in it. That server is in the same network where sun machine is. I don't know how to access the dvd rom via network. Can I do nfs on that dvd rom?

Please help!!
Thanks

no, you need a running OS to have networking features like nfs or smb, when you upgrade a system you boot ether from local drive or remote via tftp; if you don't have a drive in your host you need to setup an installserver on the same subnet, pls refere to docs.sun.com to find more info about installservers...

Best Regards, Franz
