How to upgrade an application on lotusnotes4.6 to R5.0.Please explain this process in step-wise.

Have you tried compacting the database on a R5 server ?
That will turn the design of the database into R5... Peter Van Eeckhoutte

Turn off the R4.6.Install in the R5. Return on the server, it will auto upgrade to R5.

If your concern is updating any code to work in R5, just try it. Most of the time it flows seamlessly. When you compact the database, it will update the ODI level to be R5.
