how to upgrade a folder from 5.1 to 6.2 in informatica ?

Hi all,

I have few questions related to upgradation..

1. Can anyone tell me how do i upgrade a folder from 5.1 to 6.2 should i copy all the sources and targets directly from the 5.1 folder to 6.2 and

do the mappings have to be copied individually..as i have close to 50 mappings in my folder and around 60 transformations..in informatica 5.1.

2. Do i have to create a sepereate workflow for each session manually to acheive this..

would appreciate your help !!

Follow these steps;

1) Create a migrate folder say "M"

2) Copy all mappings from existing folder to newly created folder "M".

3)copy this folder "M" into new repository.

4)Follow the steps of copy folder wizard .

5)The copy folder wizard copies Sources, transformations, mapplets, targets, mappings,business components, sessions and also the folder versions.

5)Now upgrade this NEW Repository by inserting 6.2 version CD..

hi doove,

thanks for ur help..but i have a situation in which
there is a informatica 5.1 repository that contains the
folder which i want to be migrated to informatica 6.2
the repository for informatica 6.2 is already there and 6.2 has already been installed..

the 5.1 folder contains new mappings which were created after the repository was migrated to 6.2 so 6.2 already has all the old mappings of 5.1 but i want to transfer only the new folder from 5.1 to 6.2 and not the entire repository.

Hi Vikind,

Select the new mappings in 5.1 version folder and copy them
onto 6.2 folder .It is just like copying folders in windows(drag and drop).
