I rec'd a document with form fields in Word that is password protected. Unfortunately the creator doesn't remember what the password is. Is there a way to get around needing that password so I can make changes?
If it is a Word Xp doc, it's possible to save the .doc as an .rtf file, then reopen it in a .doc from the .rtf file. Quite simply, during the resaves, the format is preserved but the password protection doesn't carry over.
I use Excel 2000. I would like to place a formula in a cell that records the date & time on the most recent occasion when the sheet/workbook is saved. I know the facility is available in Word, but is it possible to do this in Excel?
Thankyou in advance

If saving as RTF has an adverse affects, you can get rid of password protection by opening a blank document, hit Insert-File, and choose your password-protected file. Protection goes bye-bye.
Doc protection is not designed for security--it is only designed for forms, tracked changes...and the 3rd thing that's under Tools-Protection---I forget!
