how to unlock locked pdf files so I can print them

If you are working on a mac, you select the pdf-file and push the apple key and the i.
An info window will open, at the left bottom you see the mentioning of "locked", if the box is checked, uncheck it and close the info window. Your file is now unlocked.

Well if you've 'forgotten' your password, what you may find useful is a little program called Advanced PDF Password Recovery from It works!
