I think that I need to COMPLETELY UNINSTALL Access 2000 and then reinstall. But can't seem to find it all to get rid of it.
The reason that I am doing this is to hopefully correct what seems to be corruption. When I open my database by opening Access and selecting the correct db from the "Open existing file" list, all is well. But when I click on the shortcut to the db that I put on the desktop, or open Windows Explorer and click on it there, I get a critical error message saying that it "can't find the db file or one of it's components is missing." After I close the error message, all seems well.
I have two computers and have copied the same db to the second computer and have no problems at all which leads me to believe that the problem is the program, not the db.
I have used the Office install cd to repair and did not get any benefit from doing so. I have also tried the ADD/Remove components button from the install cd, but can't see any way to Remove, just add.
If there is something I should do other than reinstall, I am open to suggestions.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
