Greetings fellow Tek-Tipsters,

I know that it is possible to turn off hyperlinks for TYPED text, through the Format menu. But what I am looking for is more comprehensive.

I wish to completely turn off hyperlinks, so that when copying and pasting text from a Web page, any hyperlinks from the page will simply be copied over as text.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

If you're posting from a webpage to Word, use Edit > Paste Special and choose the 'unformatted' option. That gets rid of hyperlinks attached to words.

Word also has a habit of activating hyperlinks that you type or copy. One can inhibit this by enclosing the name in square brackets, things like []. (This doesn't work for posts here, but does work OK for Word.)
