Hi,

I am fairly new to the BO world. We are running BOXI.

What we would like to do is transfer a pdf that is generated on a server outside of BO to one of the public folder in the infoview. Basically, the question is: Is there a way to "mimic" the action of new --> document from local computer at the command line?

Thanks!

If you are working within a Windows environment you can create a command file that uses move or copy statements to distribute files across the network. This is pretty much based on your operating environment.

Also, there is a very rich SDK with three different flavors - .NET, Java, and COM+ - that can be used to write a program that will publish your files to BO XI so that they can be seen through InfoView. A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Actually, I don't think the object model supports this. At least the 6.x object model didn't. You'll have to look at the documentation to see if XI does.

The XI .NET SDK absolutely supports this - I've written a utility that does it.
