I have a client that has a shopping cart type site (aspx) that needs a redesign. How am I to show him my ideas without it being live.. do I have to have a duplicate site with differently named files? He has quite a few pages and that would be a lot of work.. I think , any suggestions?

Use another server? Screen dump from your own PC?

Thanks

I guess I am spoilt a bit, we have everything running locally on each PC we then have 2 environments live and test with each having its own server for websites, applications & sql

man... sounds like you are set up - I wish I had that

BUSHhtr, hmmmm, can you take the copy of the files, images and the dB can save it on a local PC (laptop works also) and run the code off that? I'm sure if you instal and confire Apache or another IIS and the ASPX server (if any) then you can make changes on the local pc level.

I use Coldfusion, and what i've done is, dump all the files, images and the dB onto my laptop, run the coldfusion server and the IIS server off the laptop and I am set, might not be that simple for ASPX, don't know.

I wish I had a laptop - hopefully this client can rpovide another server to test things on for me

Can this client provide anything for you to test on? If not, then you simply tell them that its not possible if you have no testing/development enviornment.
