How to setup a BDC

I need to create an additional BDC from existing NT 4.0 servers. Can this be done or do i need to start from scratch with a new server install?

start from scratch. You cannot upgrade a standalone server to a BDC

There is third party software that can do that. It's called Upromote.

i've used upromote before to downgrade a PDC on one domain and then promote it to a BDC on another domain with no problems.

It may take a hour or two depending on the amount of used drive space as it involves replacing the SID info on every file of the system
