Hi all,

I intend to set up my mail system consisting of two mail servers as follow:

mail1.com.vn & mail2.com.vn
And definition in DNS as :

com.vn MX prefrence = 10 , mail exchanger = mail1.com.vn
com.vn MX prefernce = 20 , mail exchanger = mail2.com.vn

I mean mail2.com.vn mail server is back up for mail1.com.vn one. But until now, I don't know how to configure these two mail servers so that they are used to back up each other. ( I am using Netscap Mail software ).

Please help me to deal with this issue.

Thanks very much for your help.

John Thom

Not sure on Netscape but to point you in the right direction, i have exchange 2k and sendmail,

exchange is the main email server, sendmail is setup on another network at our hosting facility. For redundancy, 2 networks, 2 power supplies, 2 mail servers... We added the MX of 10 for exchange, and an MX of 20 for sendmail, we then told sendmail that any mail you receive for ourcompany.com to que and forward to the exchange server. so if our T1, router , server, or power goes down, then sendmail will be recv all mail at our DC, and will indefinatly try to forward to our exchange server until it is successfull....
