We are looking for ideas or experience with the wireless configuration. We need a way to turn off the wireless card when the laptop is on the wired network. These are all IBM pcs and we are currently using a script to set the weight of the NIC cards to auto detect if the machine is on the network or wireless.
There is a tool from IBM that can manage this but we need to find altrenative solutions also.
Any ideas will help
Thanks

We need it to work for the mobility in our office as well as out side the office
we have found some threads for DHCP and DNS metrix configuration. Has any one worked on that?

You can set up two different hardware profiles, one called "Wired", the other called "Wireless". In the "wired" profile disable the wireless NIC. In the "wireless" profile disable the wired NIC. Then the user selects which profile they want to use when the machine boots up.
