How To Secure Vb.Net Web Service With A Certificate 1

To secure a web service with a certificate do I simply have to add a certificate to my website server ( in my case IIS )?

Is there any extra code I need to perform in my web service after the certificate has been added ( eg. for standard web pages there needs to be provision for using an https address instead of an http address ).

I got that by Googling 'asp .net web service ssl' (without the quotes). There were a ton of other results that would probably be helpful as well.
