How to save in MPEG format?

In Premiere Pro, how do I export the timeline into MPEG format? There is no MPEG option in the File/Export/Movie.../Settings/General, I don't see any option for MPEG at all. When I search help about exporting into mpeg format, there is something call Adobe MPEG Encoder, but I don't have that in PPro. Is this something I need to buy separately or what?

You need the Adobe Premiere MPEG plugin (additional purchase)
However I suggest you dont use Premiere to make a mpeg file

Export your film as an AVI and then download a program called Tsunami Mpeg Encoder (

Faster and easier to use.
