Hi Guys

I have to rebuild the server that runs BE9.1 This will involve formating the hard drives and re-installing W2K3 and BE9.1

My question is, can I save off to disk all my jobs and media sets, etc... so I can reload them after the build, if so how?

Thanks

Jay

There is a un-supported way to work with the msde-database. BUT! The server has to be installed with the same hardware and servername. This should allow you to use the same db-file...

Ok how do I do that? The Server will be rebuilt on to the same hardware with the same servername. Is there a link to a techj doc or anything?

Had a chat with veritas Tech this was there solution

You could save the Data and the Catalogs folder to an alternate location..

They would be currently present in the following location :

\Program files\Veritas\Backup Exec\NT

You need to stop the BE services and the SQL server before you copy these folders, then when the server is rebuild rename the newly installed folders and copy your original folders back to the NT folder.

Thanks for any one who's been looking into this for me :)
