Ok, I am banging my head against a tree here.
I have val manager but not using it right now, so I FTP.
I can ftp all the .wav files to the /annc directory on the VAL board. (I see them when I do a DIR or ls).
The problem is the when I do a list integrated for that val board NONE of the announcement are there!!
How do I get the annoucments from the /annc directory to be active on the PBX?

Thanks in advance good people.

on the change ann screen enter the details of the announcememnts (make sure the name matches the .wav filename before copying them to the VAL board.

How do you FTP to the VAL board instead of using the Avaya App? The reason I'm asking is because my app isn't working and I'm getting some Java runtime error when I try to reinstall.

Thanks,
Jeff

What about if you use Avaya Voice lan manager software?
never used it before but i heard that works great, also I am using WS_FTP for my Val and works great too!
give it a try

just got thru going thru all this after our upgrade. WSFTP doesnt seem to work, VAL manager too buggy.. DOS FTP works fine for me
just got to enable the filesystem on ur annc board 1st
en file b nnlnn login name password.. then ftp to the ip of the val board.
wave file names HAVE to match exactly case sensitive
ALSO waves HAVE to be 8 bit, 8Khz, mono, Ulaw..
A law doesnt seem to work

Guys I am all set now. I did not realize that you still had to do a "change announcements" to add the extensions and names even after I had FTP the wave files and could see them in the /annc/ directory on the VAL board.

THANKS.

mmm what about with Voice Lan Manager..
just try it but i get a message "No Val Boards detected"

any clue why can that happen?
