my computer experienced a vid card fault (faulty capasitor), and causes window to crash or do some odd stuff during the faulty period. one of the behavior is my desktop icons loaded extremely slow, and with faulty colors (think atari game console back in the 80s). after i got the card fixed, everything is fine, including my 3d games. but windows' icon are still in faulty color, is there a way to restore them? or were they currupted during my bad vid card? how do i restore them? i could post a screen shot of my desktop if needed. thanks

You have to delete the Icon Cache. Windows re-creates it when you reboot. Search this site for "Icon Cache". I forget how.
