We recently bought our first tape library: a Dell TL2000. I wanted to test the restore capabilities of a couple of files backed up this past week but have not been able to feel my way through it.

The tapes are set up with a 2 day 'no overwrite' protection, however that would not have interfered with a restore in BE using a stand alone drive.

So two questions if I may?

1: how to get BE to pull the file(s) from the tape once it is in the tape drive again?

2: Under Media most of the tapes show a blue tape icon to the left of the media label. And most of those show a red circle / black X on them. They are all part of the media set we assigned to the library. I believe this means that tape is not available. Is there a place where I can look up the meaning of the symbols? Most of what I've found has just said 'closed' or 'broken'. :]

Thanks

Paul
