I install win xp pro with service pack 2 on a PC. For some reason there are two additional icons in the control panel with no names and no display picture on them. I cannot open them and cannot delete them.

Is there anyway I can remove them from the control panel?

Thanks

In your Windows\system32 folder there are a bunch of CPL files. Those files are aplets for Control panel. Try to move one by one until you get desired result )
Also in registry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\Extended Properties\{305CA226-D286-468e-B848-2B2E8E697B74} 2
also all aplets are described.
