How to preview different data based on specific search criteria?

First of all I want to tell you that I'm beginner and I fell lost, so any help well be appreciated.
My question:
I have a small search sql query with more than one criteria, I can choose one of that criteria to do the search on or more than one. I want to preview a report for the searching result by clicking a command button in the VB 6.0 form. I mean the data that shown in the report will change upon the search criteria and its result.
SO .. HOW CAN I DO THAT ?!!!
By the way I'm using Oracle database and in my sql query I'm joining more than one table.
