I'm trying to clean up my system event log. An event which keeps on recurring is a printer in someone's bedroom (!) keeps getting set, then created and then unpublished - all this within 1 second of each other!
How can I prevent this happening?

Is this a terminal server?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

No, just a 2003 DC, although I do use Remote Desktop on it which I think uses some of the same services as Terminal Services?

There is an option to connect local devices in RDP options it is probably related to this, it allows a user to print to their local printer from the terminal server. If something is interfering with this it may cause errors in the event log. This feature can be turned off in group policy.

Thanks both of you! It was the Remote Desktops option that was causing it. I disabled it in the options in the client application and it fixed the problem. I couldn't find it in GPO but problem solved since I'm unlikely to want to be printing from a remote desktop connection.
