I have a personal db2 on my NT virtual machine system running on top of my Linux system. A data source in this db2 is registered as ODBC data sources in WinNT.

I forsee problem connecting to the db2 source from my java program running on my Linux system using jdbc-odbc as I do not know the port no. of the ODBC server running on my NT VM.

Can anybody help me by telling which port the ODBC server is listening at and how to configure the URL; usually it is jdbc:eek:dbc:sourcename; but now jdbc:eek:dbc:XXXX. What is in this XXXX portion which will have port no included???

Thanks!!!
alvin

Try on NT netstat -an to see which ports are currentlly LISTEN on ( one of these will be ODBC) It is normally a configurable port.

JDBC:ODBC:(your NT ip:port)
jdbc:eek:dbc:192.168.1.1:3600
Tony ... aka chgwhat
tony_b@technologist.com

When in doubt,,, Power out...
