Can someone please ltell me how I can PERMANENTLY remove that stupid messenger? I deleted it out of the Windows XP Setup, using the Add/remove Programs and then XP Setup, is there a registry value I can write/remove to never start that thing again?

thanks, victor

The other method to uninstall it completely,
Go to Start > Run, then type in this and run it. (one Line)

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

thank you very much, I tried searching for the topic so there wouldn't be a duplicate post, but I didn't find anything.

thanks

Easy method - find the Messenger directory and rename it. Mine is called "OldMessenger" If Windows can't find it, it can't run it!
