How to partition my drive to use both Windows me and Red Hat linux?

I am trying to install Red Hat linux and I need to figure out how do I go by partioning my drive. I know how to goto the Fdisk setup but how would I go by adding a partition when it tells me that that my hda1 is using a 100%? Pls give me steps...Help..

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
