Hi all,

how can I make an APPEND-query overwrite already existing records instead of giving a key-violation-error because of duplicate keys found and leaving the (old) records in the table?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Greetings,

Dirk

dirk.news@yucom.be

Well an Append query does just what it say's.
Append.
So even if you had no KEY errors it would append those records and you would have duplicates. I don't think that what you want either.
You need to use and Update Query to find and existing item and update it.

If you do want duplcates then open the table in Design view and Click on the "Tools" menu and "Indexes"
Find the Primary key and delete. Then look at the bototm and wher it says "Indexed Yes (No Duplicates) change it to Indexed Yes (Duplicates OK)

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
