dear all,

I am stuck on the possibilities for this one.
I'd like to design a query or several to measure not only current state of affairs by use of money in/money out, but also budgeting for the future.

If I have a list of items, with either the dates they're paid, or the date in the future at which time they SHOULD be paid, how do I ge t a query to display:
a) current state of affairs
b) month by month future breakdown.

all ideas welcome!!

neil

p.s. I've probably overcomplicated matters by having separate tables for moneyout, and money in, which is directly linked to certain projects we undertake. should I lump it all together in the same table?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "Current State of Affairs", you'll have to clarify that for me. As far as the Month-by-Month summary, you just need to do a crosstab query.
MoneyIn / MoneyOut... at first blush, I'd say combine them into the same table, but I'd need to understand the composition & relationships of your tables further to make an intelligent suggestion. (There may be valid reasons for not combining them.)
