Hi all

I installed KDE for AIX4.3 and everything worked fine. Except I don't know how to set up the system taking KDE as default (login) windowmanager.

May anyone help me?

Thanks you in advanced.
With best regards
Frederik

cde or command line can be changed via smit on aix433 (System environments or someth like that)

Thats right, but I cannot choose KDE there... I think I have something to configure with kdm... or so ;-).

Thanks for your help!

Best regards
Frederik

smit shows you the script or command it uses to config the Feature, if you press F6

Hello,
KDE is only supported at AIX 5.1 and above. KDE is not supported at AIX 4.3.3.

KDE is not suspected to guarante anything on AIX 5.2 nor later releases, but anyone is free to try it out on any UNIX or close enough lookalike with reasonable compiler and build tools just like AIX 3 and futrher

fsch: you may try running k*init instead of usual xinit - it sets things up as necessary and starts up correctly at least till login screen
