I installed WIN XP in a machine that already had Windows Vista in it and Audio and other multimedia was working fine, but after i installed WIN XP the AUDIO is not working, all the options are disabled when i open the Sound and Audio Devices property tabs..i also tried the services.msc in the Run command and opened the Services and tried to go to the Windows Audio Properties Tab and the Services buttons were disabled as well,so please help me to make the AUDIO work in my system....

Did you go to Computer Management compmgmt.msc then Device manager to see if you have any yellow exclamation marks. This would indicate that drivers are no loaded, if you have the Audio disk check if it has XP drivers, else if the sound card is on board, check your Motherboard number and search for drivers on the web or motherboard manufacturer.

Install the chipset drivers before the audio drivers - hopefully that'll do it...

Keep us posted.

obviously not installed the audio drivers for your mobo on xp, since you did an reinstallation.
