how to make a web site using command prompt

I want to create new web site using command prompt in IIS 5.0

I can create it usin c:\inetpub\adminscripts\mkw3site.vbs

but i am not able to give execute rights for the folder using mkw3site.vbs.

also, is it possible to check from command prompt itself whether a given port is being used or not...

are you trying to run this via the cmd prompt, or through a web page?

through cmd prompt and not web page

well i found mkw3site.vbs for making websites in admin scripts folder
i also found chaccess.vbs with which i can give execute rights...

but for chaccess i need to know what is the site number...

all this is a bit cumbersome...

ill have to find what port is free
then use mkw3site
then find what is site number assigned
then use chaccess

if there exits a single command in which i can create a site and give execute rights it will be great

what about ping? you can ping a port if i remember right

hmm guess ping doesn't support ports in the way i thought, but this article might give some direction for starters :
