I've made a bootable XP startup CD disk, by coping the files from the 6 floppy's using Nero express bootCD, But upon reboot, it opens in a black dos screen, and not in the usual blue screen as it does when booting from the 6 XP floppy's, how is it done so that it will boot exactly as the Wxp boot floppy's. What am I doing wrong

711782 - confused - why are you trying to create a CD from the floppies? (have you not got an XP install CD/working floppy drive). Those 6 floppies are designed to be loaded one after the other - probably need to change something to get the process to expect all the files there at once. Also - how did you set up Nero to write the CD? Just copied all the files to one place and created CD from there or used the create bootable CD option?

Thx guys. I apologize for the delay in responding to your answers, I just got back in town. I gave up this idea 'cause is too much trouble to do this, anyway it was just an experiment to see if it could be done.
