how to make a default e-mail account 1

When I click an e-mail protocol e.g. management@tcmshgrp.com my earthlink mail activates.

My corporate mail account is outlook and I would prefer outlook to activate when I click the e-mail protocol.

Where do I set my default e-mail account to stop earthlink from taking over?
 
I am assuming that you are not using Outlook for your Earthlink mail.

The first place to check is in IE under TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS - PROGRAMS. Set E-Mail to Microsoft Outlook.

If that does not correct the situation then open Windows Explorer and then go to File Types. Look for the URL:MailTo file type and then enter this command for the open command line

"C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1"

(make a path correction if you installed Outlook in a different path)

The windows explorer modification fixed the problem.
I did look everywhere and know my way around but would have never thought to look there!
