how to install a usb echo 30 in backup exec 8.6

hi i've installed a onstream usb drive (echo 30) in removeable storage i can see the drive and it seems to work but i can't get it by my deveices in the backup exec program what am i doing wrong ?
if i go to device availability i don't see any drive

Create a backup to disk folder. Veritas Backup Exec doesnt support USB as tape devices.

i don't think that's a solution
i need to recover some data from my tapes it is backuped with an scsi onstream drive (but now defective)

ps how do i assign a drive letter to this drive ?

BE doesn't support USB drives.

You can use Ntbackup - it should work.

I already tried that but it gives the media as unrecognized
