Hello,
I am willing to install my first Checkpoint.
I have this configuration (server with 2 NIC).
The server is connected to the Internet with a ADSL modem and get a dynamic IP address from the PPPoE.

Internet
Modem
ADSL <---> NIC -- Server -- NIC <---> HUB <---> PCs
DHCP IP 10.0.2.1 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.X

1 - Can I install it on this server?
If yes, which IP should I register
2 - If I cannot, can I use a private IP address to register?
3 - Any others advice are welcome

Thanks for help !
Ben

if this structure works with the IP address on the external interface not requiring a DHCP address then register the firewall using this address.
with NG you can register any interface (or so i understand) you then set the external interface via the topoligy in the firewall object (so you can also use the internal interface).
it is alsoworth using the checkpoint user center
this will inable you to quickly change your licencing to different IP addresses and to a different platform if required (DR testing).
