Thanks

There are plenty of ways but it may be easiest to buy a $20 USB floppy drive.

I had the same problem so I called Quark and they were no help - they don't support 4.04 ...grrr.

This was my solution.

Short Version:
* Creater a disk image of the installer floppy on a machine with a floppy drive
* Create a virtual floppy disk drive on the floppyless machine and install it from there.

Long Version:
1) Download and install MagicISO ( on a PC with a floppy drive. There is a 300M limit on the trial version, but since you are creating a floppy you will be okay.

2) Open MagicISO - the go to File>New>Disk Image> 1.44MB

3) Insert the Quark Installer disk into the floppy drive

4) Select the A: Drive from the file explorer, then drag-n-drop all the file on the floppy drive into the top file window.

5) Then File>Save and give it a file name.

6) Move this saved disk image file onto the Quark Computer ( email, USB Drive, copy over the network)

7) We now have to mount the disk image. Google "fileDisk Virtual Disk Driver" and look for a application called fileDisk.

8) Install fileDisk - read the manual.

9) Using fileDisk, mount the disk image you created above.

10) Open the virual drive, and install Quark :)
