Hi,

I have to load test a switch (Content Switch - Cisco CSS 11050) for work. I am currently using a software called http_load. It's producing requests to a web site that passes through the switch. That way I got the cpuload up to about 80%. But I can't get it higher!

Does anyone had to do this before?
Any idea on how to increase the cpuload of a switch to 100% is welcomed!!

Thank you so much...
Genevieve

Have you tried doing this with many source hosts? A single host might overload it's resources and not the switch's resources.

Yes, I had 2 computers...then I added one more...did not change anything.. :(

Thanks for your answer...and feel free to suggest anything else... ;)

Any more ideas?

Please I need help :(

Thanks
Genevieve

I'm not too familiar with the capabilities of the 11050 configs, but is there anyway you could turn on packet debugging? It would definately load down the CPU, but it really isn't a legitimate way of doing it because of the high articfical load due to the debug logging. But if you are just out to max it out then see if that is possible.

I'll investigate!

Thanks :)
Genevieve
