How to increase speed of printing with vb

I designed billing s/w with vb6/cr 8.5/access but the printing of bills are so slow as compared to dos based s/w like foxpro.My client is happy with dos based s/w but not with this window based.
Is there any way to increase the speed of printing.
Pls. let me know as soon as possible otherwise my s/w will be rejected.

Does it help to use the printer's built-in fonts? I recall that my (ancient) printer could easily take an hour for one page when printing from Windows. But that was because Window's standard font was not in the printer and everything was sent graphically.
Selecting a built in font improved the speed enormously, because the characters were then sent as text.

Anyway font is not important for my bill I can set bilt in font.Can u tell me how to select built in font.Can u give me code for that.
