How to Group Call to paging trunk

For emergency situations, we have a user that pushes a group call key on his phone. They want me to have this phone also key into the paging system, so that the emergency personnel in another building will hear the group call information at the same time the call goes out to all of the organizations.

The paging is hooked up and working, however, I am unable to put the ACOD to the paging route as the DN on the group callers list. I get a SCH5461 (DN does not exist or is not a PBX or BCS type). I have tried by taking a 2500 port, and cfw'd it to the paging route, but as soon as I put the ACOD in, I get a FB. The route TARG is 2,3,4 and the set TGAR is 1. I also cant find something in the route that would block me.

I was able to work around this, by having the 2500 HUNT and FDN to the ACOD, and shorting out the pairs, putting it in direct hunt to the ACOD, but I'm not about to Mickey Mouse my way through this.

If I go to a 3904 set, I can CFW it to the ACOD. I can also CFW the 2500 set to any other DN in the switch, just not to the ACOD. I built an ACD DN, with MAXP 1, and NCFW it to the ACOD, When I try to change the group caller list and add the new ACD number, it will not accept that (SCH5461 again). I'm stumped! Any help would be appreciated. Phantom TN's are not a possibility.

don't sound very clean either way, i would show him how to conf to the acod and the group call.. about the only clean way.. anything else i can think of is going to either hang or put dial tone on the paging

Unfortunately, the users (only 1 phone can initiate the call) only have 1 button that is pushed, which is the group call. Conferencing and/or adding another keystroke will not suffice, as it is an emergency procedure. I was thinking of seeing if I couldnt reprogram the trunk as something other than a paging trunk, as the only true thing the paging equipment needs is an audio pair.

I will tinker some more with it today, and let you know if I get anything else to work. Thanks

good thought, work around number 12 million. group call can work by dialing a 4 digit number, all phones ring until the last person picks up. i set it up in the switchroom to test, no one here has had a need for it. if you get a station level page adapter from valcom, it will work just like you want. it programs just like a analog station. Valcom answers the line, sends an alert tone, (or not_switch) and puts you on the open mike.. been years since i fooled with one because the can...be put on hold, hand for no reason, be conf by accident while i call my wife to brag on my pointed hair boss ..etc... always a way to make it happen.. you get the station level page adapter and we'll make it work

With things the way they are here (political-at best), I know the monies will not be approved for any other equipment. The original equipment order called for 2 analog ports on the paging equipment, but for some reason, the vendor is unable to get them to work. My position on this matter is that I am not going to outside recommended specs, thus putting the responsibility on our shoulders here in the telecom dept. This paging system WILL work, but the VENDOR needs to get his equipment fixed.

I like trying to make non-workable situations work, but not when something as important as this hangs in the balance. Thanks very much for your help!
