So I'm looking to set up a virtual server and connect it to the internet with a different IP address than my regular computer connection. It's a laptop, and while I can connect with a cable, I'd prefer wireless, though I only have one network card.

On my computer as it is, I'd like to simply connect directly to the internet with my home connection. For the virtual pc, I've set up a proxy that I can connect to to give it a different ip. Is there a way to connect the virtual pc to the proxy and leave the regular pc directly connected so that they each have separate and unique ip addresses? If this is not the way to accomplish that, can anyone offer any advice?

Just set it up as you would a physical PC, either obtaining an address through DHCP, or with a fixed IP.
