How to get unicode data from access 2000 to display on a web page

I'm trying to access a database with some data as Unicode text. When I use ASP to retrieve the data and then display that text on the web page it comes out as question marks. The font tag is set to use the unicode font.
Within the database it displays it correctly on the forms.
