Could someone tell me if it is possible to get my Exchange Email from outside of the network, using Outlook... Without OWA and without having to do a VPN? And if so, how is the performance.

Thanks.

I think it depends on how your network is setup (if IMAP is exposed, POP3, etc).

Outlook Anywhere AKA RPC over HTTPs is what you want and performance is excellent.

I was hoping for a solution that didn't require a separate box. Thanks though.

you dont need a seperate exchange box for RPC over HTTPs. You can do it all from the same server. Thats how i do it and it works just fine with no problems.

I just googled the rcp/http thing and what I found said that you needed an extra box running proxy server for this to work. I guess I was mistaken, sorry.

Definitely no extra box required. You can use a proxy server if you want, but a straight forward firewall is fine - if you have Internet access then you've probably got enough to do it.
