How to get SPELL CHECK to work in access database

I have an Access database and for some reason the spell check is gray out, is there anyway I can get that to work.

Is this a form view, report, table, query?
Is this data on a subform or sub report?

Is the underlying database field a memo data type?

Yes, it a memo data type.

Use their sub, pass the content of the memo data in as a parameter.
Convert it to a function, return the amended text back and then put it back in the original source field.
