Folks,

In event viewer, I get an error :-

Source:W3SVC
Type: Warning
Category:None

The server was unable to add the virtual root '/DataTest/DataTest' for the directory 'C:\INetPub\ due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified. The data is the error code.

FYI, I checked the file system thru Win Explorer and did not find 'C:\INetPub\ folder. And in Internet Service Manager, DataTest folder/application does not appear anywhere in the Default Website tree.
How do I get rid of this error?

Mark.

I have this all over the joint. Trouble is, IIS 4 seems to NOT clean up well. Even though you remove Virtual Directories, Webs etc etc, it STILL for someo reason keeps it somewhere for your logs to fill up! MS help is NO help on this.

it might be keeping it in the registry somewhere.
you could search the registry for the foldername. backup some keys. delete some keys. see if it makes a difference. ===============
